SMU takes the lead in fostering educational collaboration between Singapore and Indonesia through the RI-SING University Network

AsiaAussieBusiness | The Republic of Indonesia-Singapore University Network Meeting, hosted by the Singapore Management University (SMU) on 12-13 November 2024, brought together top educational leaders from both countries to enhance partnerships in education, research, and human capital development.

The RUN meeting, which includes all six autonomous universities in Singapore and five leading public universities in Indonesia, serves as a crucial platform for promoting educational exchanges and collaborative research initiatives aligned with the growth and innovation goals of both nations. This year’s meeting underscored SMU’s dedication to fostering impactful partnerships to address regional challenges and prepare skilled professionals for the future.

Key highlights of the meeting included discussions on human capital development through bilateral cooperation, strengthened partnerships with top Indonesian universities, and a vision for expanding postgraduate and professional education initiatives under the Human Capital Partnership Arrangement and the RUN network.

The discussions at the meeting aimed to deepen existing collaborations, explore new strategic priorities, and create opportunities for students and faculty to engage in impactful exchanges and joint research efforts. The commitment to regional development was emphasized, with a focus on expanding the Indonesian university network to include institutions outside of Java Island.
